How this site earns commissions from exchange referral links, which links are affiliate links, and why commissions never influence rankings or wording.

Summary

SwapSift is an independently operated crypto exchange comparison and information website. SwapSift may earn commissions from some providers featured on this website. Compensation does not determine whether a provider is included, and our comparison methodology is described separately in the methodology. SwapSift does not charge you for using an affiliate link; provider pricing, promotions and eligibility are determined by the provider. This page explains how that works.

Current status: SwapSift participates in four referral programmes. Referral buttons appear only on South Africa pages. When you click one, SwapSift checks the country of your connection against that exchange’s published restrictions (for Luno, the countries its programme supports) and a short safety list of its own, and shows an “offer unavailable” page instead of forwarding you if you are excluded:

  • VALR referral programme (referral code VADV3VCR), live since 7 September 2026. Every VALR referral link goes through /go/valr. Commission is tiered and variable under VALR’s terms.
  • Luno referral rewards programme, live since 8 September 2026. Every Luno referral link goes through /go/luno. Under Luno’s current rules SwapSift may receive a Bitcoin reward when a referred user verifies their account, enters the referral code and buys a qualifying amount; the amount depends on Luno’s reward level at the time and is subject to Luno’s current programme terms and eligibility. The referral code is shown only next to the Luno buttons on the pages that carry them.
  • Binance referral programme, live since 8 September 2026. Every Binance referral link goes through /go/binance. SwapSift may receive compensation if you sign up through it and meet Binance’s current programme eligibility requirements; eligibility and any payout are determined by Binance, the programme terms may change, and compensation does not affect how Binance is ranked or described.
  • Bitget referral programme, live since 8 September 2026. Every Bitget referral link goes through /go/bitget. SwapSift may receive compensation if you sign up through it and meet Bitget’s current programme eligibility requirements; eligibility, any reward and any payout are determined by Bitget, the programme terms may change, and compensation does not affect how Bitget is ranked or described. Bitget currently provides a 10% trading-fee discount through the SwapSift partner link for eligible users, subject to Bitget’s current programme terms; the exact product scope is not independently confirmed, and the note is withdrawn from every page as soon as it is more than 30 days past its last manual check or the referral link is switched off.

Every referral link is marked rel="sponsored nofollow" and appears only on commercial South Africa pages (the exchange’s profile, comparisons that include it, the South Africa hub, the Exchange Finder and guides that discuss it); the page-level notice appears only on those pages. Neither commission, referral rewards nor referral compensation affect how VALR, Luno, Binance, Bitget or any other exchange is ranked or described. No other exchange has a referral agreement with SwapSift.

Affiliate links are the buttons labelled with an exchange name (for example “Visit VALR”) that carry a short disclosure sentence next to them. Technically, every such link points to an internal address beginning with /go/ and is marked rel="sponsored nofollow". Plain links to an exchange’s official website in the text, and the “Official website” links on profile pages, are not affiliate links and do not earn us anything.

How we earn

Depending on the partner, we may receive a fixed amount per verified sign-up, a share of the trading fees a referred user pays, or a combination. The exact terms are set by each exchange’s affiliate programme and can change. We do not receive any of your funds. Using an affiliate link does not add a SwapSift charge; whether a provider’s own pricing or promotion differs for referred users is set by the provider and, where we know it, stated next to the link.

A referral button is not shown, and you see a neutral link to the exchange’s official website instead, when:

  • we have no agreement with that exchange;
  • the exchange’s profile is still under review (research required);
  • the page, market or site has referral links disabled, or the programme has been paused (a paused programme switches to the official link in your browser as soon as the pause is recorded).

When you click a referral button, SwapSift does not forward you to the exchange, and shows an “offer unavailable” page instead, when the offer has expired, when its terms have not been verified by us, or when the exchange excludes your detected country.

A referral button is not removed when a figure on the page passes its re-check date; the figure itself is marked “Needs re-check” and is no longer presented as current.

What commissions do not affect

Commissions do not influence which exchanges we cover, how they are ordered, what we say about them or the results of our tools. Exchanges with no agreement appear in the same lists and tables on the same terms. Our methodology describes the ordering rules.

Your country

Affiliate offers are typically restricted to certain countries by the exchange. When you click an affiliate link we check the country reported by our hosting provider for your connection; if the offer is not available there, we show an “offer unavailable” page rather than sending you to the exchange. We do not store your IP address; see the privacy policy.
