How this site earns commissions from exchange referral links, which links are affiliate links, and why commissions never influence rankings or wording.

Summary

SwapSift is an independently operated crypto exchange comparison and information website. SwapSift may earn commissions from some providers featured on this website. Compensation does not determine whether a provider is included, and our comparison methodology is described separately in the methodology. Using an affiliate link never costs you more. This page explains how that works.

Affiliate links are the buttons labelled with an exchange name (for example “Visit VALR”) that carry a short disclosure sentence next to them. Technically, every such link points to an internal address beginning with /go/ and is marked rel="sponsored nofollow". Plain links to an exchange’s official website in the text, and the “Official website” links on profile pages, are not affiliate links and do not earn us anything.

How we earn

Depending on the partner, we may receive a fixed amount per verified sign-up, a share of the trading fees a referred user pays, or a combination. The exact terms are set by each exchange’s affiliate programme and can change. We do not receive any of your funds, and using an affiliate link does not change the fees you pay to the exchange.

An affiliate link is never shown when:

  • we have no agreement with that exchange;
  • the exchange’s data on the page is under review or out of date;
  • the exchange or offer is unavailable in your detected country;
  • the offer has expired or its terms have not been verified by us;
  • the page, market or site has referral links disabled.

In those cases you see a neutral link to the exchange’s official website instead.

What commissions do not affect

Commissions do not influence which exchanges we cover, how they are ordered, what we say about them or the results of our tools. Exchanges with no agreement appear in the same lists and tables on the same terms. Our methodology describes the ordering rules.

Your country

Affiliate offers are typically restricted to certain countries by the exchange. When you click an affiliate link we check the country reported by our hosting provider for your connection; if the offer is not available there, we show an “offer unavailable” page rather than sending you to the exchange. We do not store your IP address; see the privacy policy.
