Crypto assets are volatile

The value of crypto assets can rise or fall sharply within minutes, and can fall to zero. You may lose all of the money you put in. Past price movements are no indication of future ones, and no page on this site predicts prices or recommends buying, holding or selling any asset.

Using an exchange carries its own risks

  • Platform risk. An exchange can restrict withdrawals, suspend services, be hacked, become insolvent or exit a market. Regulatory licensing reduces some risks but does not remove them and does not guarantee the safety of your funds.
  • Availability can change. A platform that accepts residents of a country today may stop doing so, change the operating entity, or limit products such as derivatives or staking.
  • Fees and terms change. Fee schedules, limits, supported payment methods and identity requirements are set by the platform and can change without notice.
  • Transfers are irreversible. Crypto withdrawals sent to the wrong address or network are usually unrecoverable.
  • Tax and legal obligations. Buying, selling or earning crypto assets may create tax and reporting obligations in your country.

Information on this site can go out of date

We record the date each fact was verified and re-check on a schedule, but there is always a gap between a platform changing something and us updating a page. Where a value is marked unknown or under review, we have not verified it. Always confirm current terms, fees and availability directly with the provider before acting.
