Exchange Finder: South Africa
Filter exchanges by what matters to you. Only verified data can match a filter; unverified fields show as unknown.
Some links on this page are referral links: SwapSift may earn a commission or receive a referral reward if you sign up through them and meet the provider’s current eligibility requirements. This does not affect how exchanges are ranked or reviewed. How we make money

7 exchanges match
How results are ordered
- Hard filters (ZAR support, deposit or withdrawal method, spot, derivatives, beginner friendly, regulatory verification, verified fee or withdrawal data) exclude an exchange unless the fact is verified; an unknown value never satisfies a filter.
- When you choose a preference, results are ordered by: eligibility for that preference first, then the match score, then data confidence, then exchange name. Ineligible exchanges are listed underneath with the reason. With no preference, results are ordered by data confidence, then name.
- A fee that is unknown, stale, partially verified, conflicting or quote-based (cost inside a spread) is never treated as the lowest fee; the exchange is shown with a warning instead of a fee score.
- The "broad USDT network coverage" preference scores every exchange by the same thresholds on its verified USDT network list and fee table; an unknown list is ineligible.
- Affiliate commissions, the existence of an offer and click statistics never influence filtering or order.
With a preference selected, results are ordered by eligibility for that preference, then your preference, then data confidence; "Lowest verified fees" means the lowest verified trading fee among eligible exchanges — deposit, withdrawal and spread costs may differ.
How the match score works
- Lowest verified fees: lowest verified entry-tier taker fee FOR THE SELECTED PAIR CLASS (general crypto/ZAR such as BTC/ZAR by default; stablecoin/ZAR such as USDT/ZAR; or crypto/crypto) among ELIGIBLE exchanges — eligibility needs verified South Africa availability, a verified order-book rate for that pair class, verified rand deposit and withdrawal pathways, no stale fee and no conflicting cost field. +3 for the lowest usable entry-tier taker fee, +2 for the second, +1 for the third. Deposit, withdrawal and spread costs may differ and are not part of this score.
- Easy ZAR deposits: +2 for a verified free EFT rail, +2 for a verified instant rail (instant EFT, Capitec Pay, Absa Pay), +1 for a verified card rail; requires verified rand deposits.
- Beginner friendly: +3 when our editorial beginner-friendly judgement is verified true; +1 for a verified free normal withdrawal; requires a verified regulator licence.
- Trading features: +2 for verified spot trading, +2 for verified derivatives, +1 for each of OTC, staking or earn when verified.
- Every exchange also gets +1 for a verified regulator licence and +1 for verified ZAR withdrawal data, whatever the preference.

Unresolved questions
- Data under review Minimum deposit amount: No minimum deposit is printed. The deposit article (updated 6 July 2026) says "there is no amount limit on deposits", and the account-levels article lists "Unlimited deposits" for levels 1 to 3; neither names a minimum (both read 4 October 2026).
- Data under review Minimum withdrawal amount: An official near-instant withdrawal article (updated 7 July 2026) still lists a R17 minimum, but the trading-fees page and the general "How do I withdraw Rands" article (updated 7 July 2026) state no minimum, so current applicability across withdrawal methods has not been independently confirmed. Not used as a value.
- Data under review USDT minimum withdrawal: No USDT minimum withdrawal is published on the trading-fees page or the supported-networks article.

Unresolved questions
- Data under review Minimum deposit amount: No minimum deposit is printed on the fees page (bank transfer: "Free", "No limit") or in the bank-transfer deposit article (edited 29 April 2026), both read 4 October 2026. Of the deposit routes on the fees page, only Apple Pay prints a minimum.
- Global headquarters city is not stated on an official page (only the Cape Town registered address).
- Whether derivatives are offered to South African retail customers via the FSP 50850 arrangement.

Unresolved questions
- Data under review Licence reference: No FSP number for a Binance entity in the FSCA March 2026 list; Binance’s South Africa footer cites FiveWest OTC Desk (Pty) Ltd, FSP 51619, as the authorised FSP whose juristic representatives offer limited derivatives — a third party’s number, not a Binance CASP licence.
- Data under review Fiat deposit fee: A ZAR deposit fee exists (the deposit flow shows "the transaction fee (if any)" and Binance’s 2025–2026 promotions waived it up to R180), but no official page publishes the standard amount for any ZAR rail, and Binance’s fiat fee endpoint lists no ZAR entry. Unknown; never shown as 0.
- Data under review Fiat withdrawal fee: The withdrawal flow shows "the transaction fee (if any)" before confirmation; no official page publishes the standard ZAR withdrawal fee. Zero-fee ZAR withdrawals were a promotion that ended 31 March 2023 (historical). Unknown; never shown as 0.

Unresolved questions1 conflicting
- Data under review Licence reference: Bitget’s licences page lists an FSCA CASP licence for South Africa without an FSP number. The only Bitget Group entity on the FSCA list is Parsa Financial Services (FSP 52563); the number is not attributed to Bitget until Bitget states which entity serves South African crypto accounts.
- Needs review ZAR withdrawal processing schedule: Bitget’s own pages give three different times for a rand withdrawal: "within one working day", or "as little as 10 minutes" by fast transfer (Help Center Callpay withdrawal article, 2025-02-10); "within 24 hours" (Callpay launch announcement, https://www.bitget.com/support/articles/12560603822326, 2025-02-24); "often minutes, but allow up to 2 business days depending on your bank" (South Africa guide, 2025-10-16). None is recorded as current until Bitget reconciles them.
- Which entity serves a South African crypto account: BTG Technology Holdings Limited (not on the FSCA list) or Bitget Group’s South African subsidiary Parsa Financial Services (FSP 52563, FSCA Category I CASP, presented by Bitget as its Stock+ provider). Not confirmed in writing by Bitget.
